Biswa Ijtema's first phase ends with ‘Akheri Munajat’

The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema ended on Sunday (Feb 2) through 'Akheri Munajat' (final prayers) for the welfare of the country and the world. The final prayer was conducted by Maulana Zubair, top spiritual leader of Shura-e-Nezami, Bangladesh. The prayer began at 9:00 a.m. and ended around 9:35 a.m.

Thousands of devotees sought mercy from Almighty Allah by raising their hands for divine forgiveness, blessings for peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah. They also prayed for the country's welfare.

Devotees thronged the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway since early morning on the occasion of the final prayer.

This year, the Biswa Ijtema is being held in three phases. The first phase will be held from Jan 31 to Feb 2, the second phase from Feb 3 to 5 and the third phase from Feb 14 to16.

A large number of devout Muslims from all over the country take part in the Biswa Ijtema organized for the Muslims on the banks of the Turag River near the capital Dhaka. Every year, along with domestic devotees, many foreign devotees arrive from different countries of the world on the occasion of Ijtema.
