Bangladesh Nationalist Party – BNP on Monday (Feb 10) urged Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus to announce the election roadmap soon. "We hope the Chief Adviser will announce an election roadmap soon," BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told media after a meeting with the Chief Adviser in front of state guest house Jamuna.

Mirza Fakhrul along with party standing committee members Salahuddin Ahmed and Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed joined the one and a half hours meeting with the Chief Adviser.

Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan were also present.

BNP delegation handed over a letter titled “Six months of the interim government: Suggesting on the Prevailing Situation of the Country” to the Chief Adviser.

Fakhrul said they demanded holding elections quickly based on consensus after completing the minimum reforms. He said the Chief Adviser informed them that the government is working to hold the elections by December this year.
