To inspire children and teenagers in space science, Space Innovation Camp has successfully organized South Asia’s Largest Kids Space Camp 2025." This day-long Space Camp was held at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), where young participants from 85 schools across Bangladesh took part. Through unique activities such as space technology, robotics, rocket science, and astronaut training, it provided an exceptional educational experience for children and teenagers."
With the guidance of experienced Mission Controllers, children and teenagers learned model rocket building and launching, space robot creation and programming, telescope making and space observation, as well as designing colonies for Mars and the Moon. The camp also featured VR-based astronaut training, offering an immersive space experience.
Additionally, a team of young participants not only designed a Mars colony but also published their own research paper, showcasing their innovative ideas and scientific curiosity.
The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Dr. Hasanul A Hasan, Founder Member and Vice-Chairman, Board of Trustees, AIUB. He expressed his delight, saying, 'I am truly pleased that such initiatives are being taken in our country. The activities that our young participants engaged in today will further enhance their creativity and curiosity. I firmly believe that programs like this will play a vital role in nurturing Bangladesh’s future scientists, engineers, and space researchers.
The event was also graced by the presence of special guest James Gardiner, Economic Officer, U.S. Department of State. He stated, 'Space Innovation Camp has created a platform where children and teenagers can start dreaming about space science from an early age. Today’s children are the scientists, researchers, and astronauts of tomorrow. They have had the opportunity to learn, explore, and bring their imaginations to life, which is truly commendable.
The president of Space Innovation Camp, Ariful Hasan Opu stated, 'Our goal is to continue bringing new initiatives for children and teenagers in the future, enabling them to learn, explore, and turn their dreams into reality.
The event was also attended by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor, AIUB; and Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AIUB.
