‘Mujib Barsho Lokoj Mela’ begins on Mar 21 in Tungipara

The ‘Mujib Barsho Lokoj Mela’ will be held from Mar 21 to Mar 26 next on the Government Sheikh Mujibur Rahman College premises in Tungipara of Gopalganj district.

Earlier, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined a programme titled Tungipara: Hridoye Pitribhumi" at Tungipara on Mar 17 and inaugurated the fair.

At the initiative of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Gopalganj District Administration and Bangladesh Folk Art and Crafts Foundation, the fair will begin with the aim of upholding the ideology of Bangabandhu, the war of liberation and Bangladesh’s history, tradition and culture, said a press release on Saturday (Mar 19).

The fair comprising 100 government and private stalls will remain open from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

The event will be held marking the 102nd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day-2022.
