Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday (Apr 6) ordered the closure of kitchen markets and super shops in the capital by 7 p.m., starting from 6 a.m. everyday. Besides, grocery stores and small shops of different areas can remain open until 2 p.m., starting from 6 a.m.
The decision took effect from today (Monday), local media reported citing DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
However, medicine shops will remain open round the clock.
The DMP has taken the decision as part of the government's initiative to prevent the transmission of coronavirus.
