Deandra Dottin starred with an unbeaten 22-ball 51 as West Indies women's team stormed to an eight-wicket victory against Bangladesh women's team in the first Twenty20I at the Warner Park in St Kitts on Monday (Jan 27).
After restricting the Tigresses to 144-3 in 20.0 overs, the West Indies reached the target in 16.5 overs with eight wickets in hand. Captain Hayley Matthews scored 60 off 54 balls while Deandra Dottin hit 22-ball 51 that saw seven sixes.
Earlier, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty scored 40-ball 53 and Sharmin Akhter added 37 off 41 balls as the visitors posted 144 runs.
The second game of the three-match series will take place on Thursday.
Bangladesh women earlier lost the three-match ODI series 2-1 and missed out a direct qualification to the ICC Women's ODI World Cup.
