Harry Kane has earned a share of the Golden Boot award despite a disappointing final for England at Euro 2024.
The Three Lions fell to a 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final of the European Championships in Berlin on Sunday (Jul 14) night. Cole Palmer had got England back into the game after Nico Williams had put Spain in front in the early minutes of the second half.
With the fixture approaching the final minutes, Spain retook the lead thanks to forward Mikel Oyarzabal. The close-range finish saw Spain claim the victory and hand a disappointing defeat to England.
The result also confirmed who won the Golden Boot award at the tournament. Seven players finished tied with three goals with Cody Gakpo (Netherlands), Georges Mikautadke (Georgia), Jamal Musiala (Germany), Dani Olmo (Spain), Ivan Schranz (Slovakia) and Williams (Spain) all alongside Kane.
