Bhola’s Ilisha named Bangladesh's 29th gas field

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has officially announced Bhola's Ilisha-1 as the 29th gas field in Bangladesh. He made the announcement at a press conference on Monday (May 22). The state minister said that the new gas field is expected to have about 200 billion cubic feet of gas reserves.

Bhola's Ilisha has become Bangladesh's 29th gas field. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the announcement from his Baridhara residence in Dhaka on Monday (May 22), local media reported.

The State Minister said the estimated gas reserve in the gas field is 200 billion cubic feet and the daily production is around 20 million cubic feet.

With the new reserve, Bhola island has 2.23 trillion cubic feet of gas.
