Police introduces hotline to stem violence against women

Bangladesh Police on Monday (Mar 10) launched a hotline at the Police Headquarters here to promptly address incidents of violence against women. The hotline numbers are 01320002001, 01320002002 and 0132000222, according to a statement issued by the Police Headquarters.

The numbers will remain open 24/7, said the statement.

Anyone can lodge complaints using the hotlines if he or she encounters or witnesses any form of violence towards women that include aggressive behavior, insults, eve teasing, and sexual harassment across the country.

The Police Cyber Support for Women will remain alert as before to provide legal aid to women and prevent cybercrime, it added, warning that Bangladesh Police follows a zero tolerance policy to prevent violence against women and children.
