Expatriate Bangladeshis sent over US$2 billion remittances during the first 21 days of December in the 2024-25 fiscal year.
Of this, remittances through state-owned and specialised banks accounted for $690.45 million, while private banks received $1,311.62 million, according to Bangladesh Bank data released on Sunday (Dec 22).
For the fiscal year, July-November worker-remittance inflows stood at $11.14 billion, reflecting around a 26 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
