SUST_Fanatics of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology became Champion and DU_Singularity of University of Dhaka became 1st Runner Up while DU_Primordius of University of Dhaka became second Runner Up in ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2024 hosted by Daffodil International University. IUT_Chronic Overthinkers of Islamic University of Technology won the best Girls’ team award. and DIU_Strygwyr of Daffodil International University won the 10th position in the contest. On Dec 7, the prestigious ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2024 concluded with an extraordinary display of programming excellence hosted by Daffodil International University at Daffodil Smart City, Savar.
The brightest minds from across the region came together for this grand event, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Champion SUST_Fanatics team members are Alfeh Sani, Nayeem, Abu Kawsar Md. Golam Sarwar. First Runner Up winning DU_Singularity team members are Sakib Hassan, Yeamin Kaiser, Ujan Samadder and 2nd Runner Up DU_Primordius team members are Md. Ibrahim, Asif Jawad, Munawar Shakil Muhit.
The contest started at 9.00 a.m. and continued till 2.00 p.m. uninterruptedly. Beside this, ICPC Dhaka Regional 2024 was a full pack festival of computing, fun events, technical talks, cloud computing events, recruitment fair and project showcasing. There was a grand presence of all partners supporting directly and indirectly at the pre-functional areas of Shadhinota Sommelon Kendro.
Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary ICT Division of Ministry of Posts Telecommunication and Information Technology was present as the chief guest at the closing and award giving ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dutch Bangla Bank PLC. and Dr. Muhammad Mehedi Hassan, Executive Director (Additional Charge) Bangladesh Computer Council were present as the special guests. Presided over by Prof. Dr. M Lutfar Rahman the prize giving ceremony was addressed by Prof. Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Mazumder, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Regional Contest Director (Dhaka Site) Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain and Chief Judge Chief Judge of the contest Prof. Dr. Shahriar Monzur.
This is for the first time, with the aim of making students interested in computer technology education and make awareness about programming contest from the school level, besides this grand computer programming contest, ‘Junior Computer Programming Contest’ was organized for the students of different schools where 100 contestants of 10 schools from all over the country participated.
Tazoar Aman Khan of South Bridge School beame first, Faizin Haque of Daffodil International School became second, Shahir Kudrat Rafan of Daffodil University School and College beame third in the Junior Computer Programming Contest.
This event not only celebrated the spirit of competitive programming but also created a platform for innovation and collaboration. The day was filled with challenges, teamwork, and excitement, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
