Afghanistan beat Tigers to take ODI series 2-1

Afghanistan beat Tigers to take ODI series 2-1

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Omarzai shine as Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by five wickets on Monday (Nov 11) to claim the three-match ODI series 2-1.

Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a match-winning knock, scoring a brilliant century, as Afghanistan comfortably chased down Bangladesh's total to win the third ODI and seal the series. The Tigers's total of 244 proved insufficient, as Afghanistan won by five wickets with 10 balls to spare.

With this win, Afghanistan clinched the series 2-1, marking their second consecutive series win over Bangladesh in ODIs.

The defeat marks a bitter result for Bangladesh, who had already lost to Afghanistan in a 2-1 series loss in 2023 on home soil.

Despite the individual brilliance of Mahmudullah Riyad (98 runs) and Mehedi Hasan Miraz (66), the team once again struggled to provide enough support in key moments, particularly in the bowling department.
