14 government hospitals renamed


14 government hospitals renamed

The government renamed 14 government medical college and hospital, dental college and healthcare institution across the country including Dhaka, after their respective districts. A gazette notification of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday (Nov 3).

In Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute will now be known as the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute while Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur as Faridpur Medical College and Hospital and Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute in Gopalganj as Gopalganj Eye Hospital and Training Institute.

Besides, Sheikh Hasina Medical College and Hospital in Tangail is renamed as Tangail Medical College and Hospital while Sheikh Russel National Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital as National Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Dental College and Hospital in Gopalganj as Gopalganj Dental College and Hospital, Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College and Hospital in Gopalganj as Gopalganj Medical College and Hospital and Sheikh Sayera Khatun Trauma Center in Gopalganj as Gopalganj Trauma Center, the notification said.

Sirajganj 250-Bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital is renamed a Sirajganj 250-Bed General Hospital, Sheikh Hasina Medical College and Hospital in Jamalpur as Jamalpur Medical College and Hospital, Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital in Khulna as Khulna Specialized Hospital and Bangabandhu (Daldalia) Union Health Sub-Center in Kishoreganj as Daldalia Union Health Sub-Center.

Moreover, Colonel Malik Medical College and Hospital in Manikganj has been renamed as Manikganj Medical College and Hospital and M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital in Dinajpur as Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital.
