The newly elected office bearers of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) took charge for the next two years at a function in the capital on Saturday (Mar 9). The new committee, led by its president M Wahiduzzaman and senior Vice-President Liakat Ali Bhuiyan took charge from Jannatul Ferdous, REHAB administrator designated by the Ministry of Commerce, at a city hotel, said a press release.
REHAB's First Vice-President Lion MA Awal, Second Vice-President Mohammad Akhter Biswas, Third Vice-President Engineer Abdul Latif, Vice-President (Finance) Abdur Razzaque, vice president from Chattogram region Hazi Delwar Hossain and other directors were present, among others, on the occasion.
Earlier on Feb 27, the election to the REHAB was held where some 29 directors were elected. Later, on Feb 29, voting took place to elect the new office bearers and following completion of necessary formalities, the election commission declared the final results on Mar 7. In continuation of this, the newly elected committee took charge on Saturday.
The newly elected REHAB leaders thanked all concerned related to the REHAB election and the immediate past administrator for holding a free and fair election.
They also vowed to work in a coordinated manner to resolve the existing problems and also to roll out a 100-day programme if necessary to supplement the initiatives.
