President's spouse Dr Rebecca inaugurates construction of PaU

President's wife and chief advisor of Primeasia University (PaU) Professor Dr. Rebecca Sultana on Wednesday (Dec 27) inaugurated the construction work of the university located in the eastern part of the capital city Dhaka. On the occasion, PaU Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Iffat Jahan read the written statement of the University's Chancellor President Mohammed Shahabuddin, while President's spouse Dr Rebecca Sultana delivered speech as the chief guest.

Dr Rebecca, in her speech, said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build a happy, prosperous and smart Bangladesh to fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Highlighting the country's different development and progress, Dr Rebecca advised the students to come forward to accelerate the process of ongoing development. The knowledge gained by the students will spread across the country and elsewhere across the world, she hoped.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PaU Md Nazrul Islam chaired the function. President's son and prominent film producer Arshad Adnan, President's Office Secretary Sampad Barua, Secretary (Attachment) Md Wahidul Islam Khan, Vice-Chairmen of the Board Trustees KM Khaled and Raihan Azad, University Registrar Brigadier General Saidur Rahman Khan along with university teachers, officers and students were present at the inaugural ceremony.

The PaU was founded in 2003 on Aug 26 with a vision to provide excellent education and research opportunities for the students and faculty. It was established under the Private University Act, 1992 (as amended in 1998).
