Advance train tickets selling going on for return journey after Eid

Bangladesh Railway is selling advance train tickets for return journey after Eid-ul-Fitr. Tickets for May 7 and 8 are being sold today since 8 a.m. while the tickets selling for return journey began on May 1.

According to Kamalapur railway station authorities, passengers can buy tickets from respective stations from where they will begin their journey. Tickets are being sold online too.

Employees of government and private offices got a long vacation this time as weekend holidays and May Day holiday merged with the holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.

People in huge number started leaving Dhaka on railways since last working day on Thursday (Apr 28) before the vacation.

On an average 53,000 passengers left Dhaka for different parts of the country every day in the last several days before Eid-ul-Fitr, according to Kamalapur railway station authorities.

Eid holidays will end on Wednesday (May 4). But many employees of government and private offices will join office on Sunday by taking extra leave on Thursday.
