Advance sale of train tickets for Eid begins

The Bangladesh Railway on Saturday (Apr 23) began the sale of advance train tickets for holidaymakers on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr from Dhaka to other districts. The advance tickets are being sold at five places in the city including Kamlapur Railway Station, said a press release.

To stop black marketing of tickets, passengers must show photocopy of National Identity Card (NID) or birth registration certificate. Maximum four advance rail tickets will be given to one person or a passenger.

A separate coach for woman and physically challenged people has been attached with every train, the release added.

The Ministry of Railways has decided to run six pairs of special trains marking the Eid. Two pairs of train in Chandpur and Sholakia Special each and one pair in Khulna and Dewanganj Special each will run.

However, the tickets of these special trains won't be available for online purchase.

Tickets for the western part of the country and Khulna will be available at Kamlapur Railway Station.

Intercity tickets for Chattogram and Noakhali will be sold at Dhaka Airport Station while Tejgaon Station to sell intercity tickets of Mymensingh, Jamalpur and special train of Dewanganj.

Tickets for Mohanganj and Haor Express will be available at Dhaka Cantonment Station and intercity tickets of Sylhet and Kishoreganj will be available at Fulbaria Old Railway Station.
