Three-day int'l tourism fair to begin Feb 3

The country's largest international tourism fair titled '10th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2022' will be held on Feb 3-5 in the capital. State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), said a press release.

Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB), the apex body of tourism in Bangladesh, is organizing the fair in association with Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Bangladesh Tourism Board, FBCCI and Bangladesh Tourist Police.

There will be a total of 130 stalls including 12 pavilions and 16 semi-pavilions in the BTTF.

Creating awareness about tourism and its sustainable development is the main objective of the fair.

The fair will be attended by various national and international tourism companies as the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), the Eastern Himalayan Travel and Tour Operators Association (EHTTOA), the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) and tour operators and travel agents from India, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lankan confirmed their participation.

TOAB organized a press conference on Monday (Jan 3) at the National Press Club, while its Director (Trade and Fair) Md. Anwar Hossain briefed the overall preparations for the fair.

TOAB President and Bangladesh Tourism Board Governing Body Member Md. Rafeuzzaman said, BTTF 2022 will create a lot of excitement among businessmen, domestic and foreign tourists and all concerned in the tourism industry. He hoped after the Corona epidemic, this fair will revive the tourism industry of Bangladesh and play an important role in the economy of Bangladesh.

This year there will be B2B sessions, seminars, round table discussions, country presentations, cultural events, raffle draws as the sideline events with the main fair.

The fair will remain open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The ticket price for each visitor is Tk 30, however, students can visit by showing their ID cards, the release added.

Since 2007, the annual international tourism fair has been organized by TOAB.
