Bangabandhu Int'l badminton begins Wednesday

Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Int'l Challenge badminton begins on Wednesday (Dec 1) at 2.00 p.m. at Shaheed Tajuddin Indoor Stadium in the city. State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest, organized by Bangladesh Badminton Federation.

A total of 337 competitors from seven countries – India, the Maldives, Malaysia, Sri Lanka Indonesia Zambia and host Bangladesh – will participate in the meet, which will be held marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Twenty-eight shuttlers from Bangladesh including eighteen men's and ten women's will take part in the five events of the competition. The events are senior, and junior division, singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
