Koeman sacked as Barcelona head coach

Koeman sacked as Barcelona head coach

Ronald Koeman has been sacked as head coach of FC Barcelona after 14 months in charge at the Nou Camp. Barca have picked up just 15 points from 10 games in La Liga and have already lost twice in the group stage of this season's Champions League. They are ninth in the table, six points adrift of the joint leaders after losing at Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday (Oct 27). The loss was Barca's third in their last four games and it followed defeat in Sunday's Clasico to Real Madrid.

FC Barcelona first-team coach Ronald Koeman was sacked after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Rayo Vallecano.

Former Manchester United and Chelsea forward Radamel Falcao’s first-half strike was enough to condemn Barca to a fourth defeat in six matches.

Koeman’s misery was compounded when Memphis Depay missed a penalty with 18 minutes remaining.

Barcelona are ninth in LaLiga, six points behind leaders Real Madrid who were held to a surprise 0-0 draw at home to Osasuna.
