DU to reopen halls for all vaccinated students from Oct 10

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to allow the residential students of its Honors first, second, and third year in its dormitories from Oct 10. The decision came from the meeting of the Provost Standing Committee held with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Aktheruzzaman in the chair, said a press release.

The students who received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccines will be allowed to move into their respective halls from 8 a.m. on Oct 10 maintaining social distance and following health guidelines, the release added.

Besides, voter registration centres will also be set up at the university's Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) to provide National Identity Cards among the students so that students who do not have NIDs can get their cards easily.

After vaccinating all the students of the university, in-person classes will be resumed gradually, the release also adds.

DU Pro-VC (Administration) Dr Mohammad Samad, DU Pro-VC (Education) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed, DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani and provosts of different halls, among others, were present in the meeting.
