The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have decided to reopen the residential halls on Oct 11 for the students. The decision has been taken on Saturday (Oct 2) night at a virtual syndicate meeting with JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam in the chair. JU syndicate member and treasurer of the university Professor Dr Rasheda Akhtar confirmed the matter to media.
According to the decision, all dormitories of the university will be reopened on Oct 11 and class activities will restart from Oct 21. Classes will be taken both online and in person. The central library will also be reopened for students.
Earlier on Wednesday, the JU Academic Council recommended to reopen the university's residential halls from Oct 21.
