Met office predicts light to moderate rain

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday (Jul 18) forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, said a met office bulletin.

As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin said that the rainfall activity may increase. Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 a.m. Saturday was recorded 64 mm at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

The country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.
