Bangladesh reports 1,354 fresh cases, 28 deaths from Covid-19

Bangladesh today reported 1,354 Covid-19 cases while the coronavirus claimed overnight 28 lives.

Twenty-eight people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this the total number of deaths reached 12,376 and death rate stands at 1.57 percent.

At least 1,354 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,89,080, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 8.90 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.56 percent.

A total of 15,205 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today).

At least 899 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,30,697 and the recovery rate at 92.60 percent.

Among the 28 deceased, 20 were men and eight women. One was between 31-40 years old; three were between 41-50; 10 within 51-60 and 14 were above 60 years old, added the release.
