Bangladesh reports 1,457 cases, 36 Covid deaths in 24 hours

Thirty-six people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With this the total number of deaths reached 12,284 and death rate stands at 1.56 percent.

At least 1,457 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,85,194, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 7.50 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.60 percent.

A total of 19,437 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today).

At least 1,378 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,27,510 and the recovery rate at 92.65 percent.

Among the 36 deceased, 26 were men and 10 women while two were between 21-30 years old; one was between 31-40; five between 41-50; nine within 51-60 and 19 were above 60 years old, added the release.
