Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours go over 100 again

One hundred and one people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 11,053 and the death rate stands at 1.48 percent.

At least 2,922 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,45,322, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 13.33 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.94 percent.

A total of 21,922 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today).

At least 4,301 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,57,452 and the recovery rate at 87.56 percent.

Among the 101 deceased, 52 were men and 49 were women. Of them, one was between 0-10 years old; three were within 20-31 years old; three were within 31-40; 11 were between 41-50; 18 between 51-60; and 65 were above 60 years old, added the release.
