Bangladesh today reported 2,697 Covid-19 cases. The tally of infections has surged to 7,42,400 in the last 24 hours. A total of 83 Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 10,952.
Eighty three people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). With this, the total number of deaths reached 10,952 and death rate stands at 1.48 percent.
At least 2,697 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 7,42,400, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 13.11 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.95 percent.
A total of 20,571 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today).
At least 5,477 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,53,151 and the recovery rate at 87.98 percent.
Among the 83 deceased, 58 were men and 25 women while five were between 31-40 years old, five within 41-50, 17 between 51-60 and 56 were above 60 years old, added the release.
