95 Covid deaths recorded in 24 hours in the country

Ninety-five people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 10,683 and the death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 4,280 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 7,32,060, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 15.07 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.94 percent.

A total of 28,408 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 a.m. today).

At least 7,072 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 6,35,183 and the recovery rate at 86.77 percent.

Among the 95 deceased, 59 were men and 36 were women. Of them, three were within 31-40 years old; 13 between 41-50; 22 within 51-60; and 57 were above 60 years old, added the release.
