10-day programme to be broadcast marking Bangabandhu’s birth centenary

A 10-day special programme from Mar 17, 2021 to Mar 26, 2021 will be broadcast through television channels, online and social media across the country marking the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The information was reveled on Monday (Feb 15) at a coordination meeting of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee at the committee office in Dhaka, said a press release.

Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury moderated the meeting.

Dr Chowdhury informed the meeting that as per the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, all preparations have already been taken to arrange the 10-day special programme from Mar 17 to 26 in 2021.

The programme will be aired on television channels, online and social media in view of the current situation of Covid-19, he added.

A plan has been taken to hold separate theme based discussion and cultural event on each day during the 10-day series programme, Dr Chowdhury said.

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, former Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Secondary and Higher Education Division (SHED) Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain, former secretary Aktari Mamtaz, Additional Secretary of Information Ministry Md Mzan Ul Alam, Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO) President Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, ATCO Senior Vice President Mozammel Babu and journalist Subhash Singha Roy joined the meeting, among others.
