Biman to fly Toronto, Tokyo, Chennai from March

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali on Monday (Feb 15) said Biman Bangladesh Airlines will spread its wing to Toronto, Tokyo and Chennai from March next.

He made the announcement while inaugurating commercial service activities of Biman’s printing and publication division (Biman Press) in the capital, said a press release.

The state minister said efforts have been going on to resume the Biman’s direct Dhaka-New York-Dhaka route soon.

Pointing that civil aviation sector was the most shattered one due to Covid-19 pandemic, Mahbub said, “We’ve taken various steps to increase Biman’s income generation besides taking initiatives for reducing its operational expenses.”

Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Md. Mokammel Hossain, Biman Board of Directors Chairman Md Sajjadul Hasan and Biman’s Managing Director and CEO Md Mokabbir Hossain also spoke on occasion, among others.
