Internet providers decide to postpone internet shutdown

Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and Cable Opertator of Bangladesh (COAB) have agreed to continue their services following request of post and Telecommunication minister and state minister for ICT.

The country’s Internet Service Providers earlier decided to shutdown of internet and connection of cable television for three hours every day from Sunday (Oct 18). They took the decision protesting Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)’s recent move to remove overhead cables.

The leaders of the associations of the service providers, however, announced the decision after a virtual meeting with Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar and State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Saturday (Oct 17), local media reported.
