Biman resumes Doha flight on Sep 7

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has decided to resume its flight operation on Dhaka-Doha-Dhaka route from Sep 7 after more than five months as the popular middle-eastern destination was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in March.

The national flag carrier announced reopening of the route by issuing a press release on Thursday (Sep 3) without detailing how many flights will be operated to the capital of Qatar initially.

When contacted a Biman official said that flight detail is likely to be uploaded at Biman’s website soon.

On Aug 31, the private carrier US-Bangla airlines resumed its operation to Doha with two weekly flights while on Wednesday it decided to operate three weekly flights on the route from Sep 9 considering the passengers’ high demand.

On Mar 21, the CAAB first imposed a ban on commercial international flight operation to and from 10 countries – Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Malaysia, Oman and Singapore – due to the pandemic.
