No decision yet on HSC exams: ministry

No decision yet on HSC exams: ministry

The government has not decided yet on when the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams will be held this year. In a statement on Saturday (Aug 29), the Education Ministry called upon the country’s people not to pay heed to any rumour about the HSC and its equivalent examinations.

Recently, the statement said, it has been noticed that teachers, parents and students are being misled by various social media posts relating the opening of educational institutions and announcement of various imaginary dates of the HSC and its equivalent examinations in fake Facebook pages and fake profiles in the name of the Education Ministry.

The ministry asked the teachers, guardians and students to remain alert about such fake social media posts and sought cooperation of media in preventing rumours to this end.

Considering the risk of coronavirus infection, no decision is taken yet on when the educational institutions will be reopened and the HSC and equivalent examinations will be held, the statement said.

Once the Covid-19 situation gets normal, the educational institutions will be reopened and the exams date will be announced through the media, it read.

A fake page named the ‘Ministry of Education Board’ said: “Decision on the HSC examination is final. The HSC examinations will begin on October 15 maintaining the health guidelines. The routine of the exams will be published on October 1 – Ministry of Education”.

But, the Education Ministry said, the post is completely false and imaginary.

The Education Ministry has a verified Facebook page, which is https://www.facebook.com/moebdgov
