Govt forms 8 surveillance teams for city cattle markets

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has formed eight surveillance teams to monitor the activities of the veterinary medical teams at the city cattle markets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. A deputy secretary of the ministry has been assigned to each team, a ministry press release said.

The Department of Livestock formed 18 veterinary medical teams and one specialist veterinary medical team for the cattle markets under the Dhaka North and South City Corporations to conduct veterinary medical services at these markets.

The department concerned has also constituted four cattle market management monitoring teams and set up a control room management team for other related activities.

In addition, 1,213 veterinary medical teams have been formed under the Livestock Department for providing veterinary medical services at cattle markets across the country.

Besides, a central monitoring team was formed to monitor all these activities, the release added.
