Jatiyo Party has taken elaborate programmes to observe the first death anniversary of the party’s founder Hussain Muhammad Ershad today, maintaining the social distancing in wake of the COVID-19 situation. The programmes include hoisting party flag at half-mast at its all offices, offering Ziarat at Ershad’s graveyard, placing wreaths at the grave and holding doa Mehfils and discussions.
Jatiyo Party Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament G M Quader along with central leaders offered Ziarat at the graveyard of former president Ershad at Palli Nibas in Rangpur this morning.
Besides, a discussion and Milad Mehfil will be held on a limited scale at Jatiyo Party Chairman’s Banani office in the city at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, local media reported.
Former President of the country H M Ershad died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on Jul 14 last year at the age of 89.
