Mohammed Nasim tests Covid-19 negative

Ailing Awami League presidium member Mohammed Nasim has been tested negative for coronavirus (Covid-19) but his condition remains unchanged. Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital Al Imran Chowdhury confirmed the matter to news reporters today.

His second test result came out negative though he would be tested again for Covid-19 tomorrow, he added.

“Mohammad Nasim is still unconscious and his condition remains unchanged,” he said.

Former health minister Mohammad Nasim will be kept under observation for more 72 hours as his health condition remains unchanged.

Nasim, also the spokesperson of the 14-party alliance, has been tested negative for the coronavirus for the second time today.

Earlier on Monday the medical board, which was formed over his treatment, took the decision that Mohammad Nasim will be kept under life support at the incentive care unit.

He underwent an urgent brain surgery on Jun 5 at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital.

On Jun 1, Nasim was admitted to Bangladesh Specialised Hospital with Covid-19 symptoms, including fever and cold. He later tested positive for Covid-19 and was rushed into surgery after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
