DMP tighten curbs on entry into Dhaka

DMP tighten curbs on entry into Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has further strengthened its monitoring by setting up check-posts at the exit and entrance points of the capital to strictly restrict the movement of people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The monitoring system has been further strengthened from Sunday (May 17) morning fearing that people's movement might increase during Eid-ul-Fitr, DMP’s Deputy Commissioner (DC-Media) Masudur Rahman told media.

The DMP has taken the measure so that no one can enter or leave the city without emergencies, he said adding that vehicles engaged in carrying goods and emergency services will remain out of the purview of the restriction.

In this case, if any person drives a vehicle without due reason, necessary legal action will be taken against him or her.

The DMP is seeking full cooperation of the city dwellers in this regard.
