Bangladesh Bank has asked the Mobile Financial Services (MFS) providers to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transactions for providing cash assistance to 50 lakh poor families amid Covid-19 crisis.
To this end, the central bank instructed MFS providers to keep sufficient money at agent points so that the beneficiaries of government-announced cash assistance can withdraw money smoothly, as per a central bank circular issued on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday launched the disbursement of Tk 1,250 crore cash assistance among 50 lakh poor families hit hard amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
