Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH) - a platform used to clear interbank cheques - will remain open in a new schedule during the general holidays from Apr 5 to Apr 9.
The presentment cut off time for high value clearing is 11.30 a.m. while the return cut off time is 12.30 p.m. For the regular value clearing, the presentment cut off time is 12 p.m. while the return cut off time is 1.30 p.m., said a Bangladesh Bank circular issued in Dhaka today, local media reported.
The central bank has fixed the new schedule as all banks will remain open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the general holidays.
The government on Wednesday issued an order, extending the holidays for all public and private offices from Apr 5 to Apr 11, including weekly holidays.
To contain the spread of deadly coronavirus, the government earlier on Mar 23 declared a nationwide 10-day holiday excepting essential and healthcare facilities, which was due to expire on Apr 4.
