Fifth Bangladeshi infected with coronavirus in Singapore

One more Bangladeshi national in Singapore has been infected with the novel coronavirus, Singapore's Ministry of Health said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 15).

All five Bangladeshis infected (Cases 42, 47, 52, 56 and 69) are linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site.

The latest case is that of a 26-year-old Bangladeshi, who is a Singapore Work Pass holder, and has no recent travel history to China, the ministry said in the statement.

Seventy-two people, including the five latest ones, have so far been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection, while a total of 18 patients have been discharged after recovery till 12:00pm today (local time), the Singapore MoH said.

On Feb 13, two Bangladesh nationals aged 30 and 37, who are Singaporean work pass holders, were diagnosed with coronavirus (cases 52 and 56).

Earlier, two Bangladeshi nationals aged 35 and 39, who are work permit holders in Singapore, were reported to be diagnosed with novel coronavirus on Feb 9 and 11.

They are all currently warded in isolation rooms at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.
