Abdul Mannan, a lawmaker from Bogura-1 constituency, died at a hospital in Dhaka. He was 60.
Mannan breathed his last at a city Hospital on Saturday (Jan 18) morning, local media reported citing Motiur Rahman Moti, private secretary of Mannan.
Earlier, the former President of Bangladesh Chhatra League was admitted to the hospital in the city following a cardiac arrest on Thursday.
Mannan, the former publicity and publication secretary and organisation secretary of Awami League was later put on life support in the night as his condition deteriorated.
Mannan was twice elected to parliament from Bogura in 2014 and 2018.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the death of the Awami League lawmaker.
