PM’s military secretary Zainul Abedin passes away

Prime Minister's Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin passed away at a Singapore hospital on Tuesday (Dec 17). He was 59. He breathed his last at Mount Elizabeth Hospital around 5:13 p.m. (Bangladesh time), local media reported citing an ISPR release.

Zainul Abedin left behind wife Ashika Begum Chowdhury, two daughters, and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was born on Jan 1, 1960 in Satkania upazila of Chattogram. He was commissioned in the Bangladesh Army in 1980.

Zainul Abedin had been serving as the PM's military secretary since Nov 28, 2011.

PM Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of her military secretary.

In a condolence message, she prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed her sympathy to the bereaved family members.
