Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is expected to visit Bangladesh on Friday (Nov 22) to attend the 13th convocation of Brac University to be held at Army Stadium in Dhaka the following day.
This will be his second visit in the country this year after leaving the United Nations.
He will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the morning, local media reported citing officials.
On Saturday morning, he will sit in a meeting with Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen, and later will join a lunch to be hosted by Brac in his honor. President Md. Abdul Hamid is also scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony, said officials.
The former UN chief will leave Dhaka in the evening on the same day.
He previously visited the country in July and attended “Dhaka Meeting of the Global Commission on Adaptation”. He is currently the chairman of the Global Commission on Adaptation.
