Special programmes to celebrate World Children’s Day

The World Children’s Day 2019 is being observed in the country today coincided with the Children Rights Week. The theme of this year’s day is ‘Today’s Children will bring the light, keep the world better’.

The government has taken elaborate programmes across the country, marking the World Children Day and Children Right Week. To mark the day and week, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Bangladesh Shishu Academy have taken elaborate programmes from today to Oct 14.

The programmes include holding discussions, cultural programmes, magic show, art competitions, award-giving ceremony, rallies of the unprivileged children, publishing journals, leaflets, booklets, poster, and special supplements in different national dailies.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate World Children Day and Children Right Week at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium on Oct 9.

A procession of children will be brought out from the Central Shaheed Minar that will end at Bangladesh Shishu Academy today.

Besides, a programme for children from ethnic groups will be held at the Shishu Academy auditorium at 10 a.m. on Oct 14, local media reported.
