Department of Trade Organization under Ministry of Commerce recently has passed a circular regarding Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) membership for software companies.
According to the circular, Under Ordinance of Trade Organization 1963-Article 13, from now on every software company must have BASIS membership for carrying out business in Bangladesh.
Also, the membership certificate will be checked in all government and non-government sector.
In this regard, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said, BASIS is working along with ICT Division for building Digital Bangladesh. Spectrum of ICT industry is increasing. Hence, numbers of ICT companies are also increasing day by day.
"Under the umbrella of BASIS, the software companies will progress together. For passing the circulate, I on behalf of BASIS Executive Council, would like to thank Ministry of Commerce and looking forward to the cooperation of stakeholders in this regard."
