The government has removed all tariffs on import of dengue test kits amid outbreak of dengue fever.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) lifted import tax, value added tax (VAT), advanced tax and advanced income tax on dengue test kits, reagents and blood platelet plasma test kits to ease the diagnosis and treatment of dengue fever.
The government order, aims to facilitate government aid and low-cost treatment, will remain effective until Oct 31, NBR issued a statutory regulatory order (SRO) on Monday (Aug 5), local media reported.
The tax-free offer will only be applicable for importing the test kits on the basis of the approval of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), SRO said.
