Advance train ticket sale for from Jul 29

The advance tickets will be sold at five different railway stations in Dhaka: Kamalapur, Airport, Tejgaon, Banani, and Fulbaria (Old Railway Bhaban).

Bangladesh Railway will start selling advance train tickets on Jul 29 on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha. Half of the tickets will be sold at ticket counters while the rest online, Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon said at a briefing at the Rail Bhaban in Dhaka today, local media reported.

The minister said tickets will be sold at five spots - Kamalapur, Airport, Banani and Tejgaon railway stations and Fulbaria in the capital.

The advance tickets of Aug 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be available on Jul 29, 30, 31 and Aug 1 and 2 respectively. Besides, from Aug 5, the return tickets will be sold from different districts for travels to Dhaka, and the sale will continue until Aug 9.

The sale of tickets will begin at 8:00 a.m. and each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.

Moreover, eight pairs of special trains will run on different routes on the occasion of Eid.

The tickets for country’s west bound trains will be sold from Kamalapur Railway Station. Meanwhile, holidaymakers can collect advance tickets for Chattogram and Noakhali destinations from Airport Railway Station.

Besides, Mymensingh and Jamalpur-bound holidaymakers can collect tickets from Tejgaon Railway Station while Netrakona-bound Mohonganj and Haor Express will be sold from Banani Railway Station and holidaymakers of Sylhet and Kishoreganj have to collect their tickets from Old Rail Bhaban in Fulbaria area.

Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims, is expected to celebrate on Aug 12, subject to the appearance of the moon.
