Alejandro Pozo delivered the late dagger in 10-man Sevilla's 2-1 friendly win over Liverpool in Boston Sunday (Jul 21), a defeat made worse for the European champions when they saw Yasser Larouci stretchered off.
Jurgen Klopp was left fuming at Sevilla’s tough tackling as the Spaniards had a man sent off but still came out on top against Liverpool in a bad-tempered game at Fenway Park.
The Kop boss and the Reds bench erupted when Frenchman Joris Gnagnon clattered teenage left-back Yasser Larouci.
Gnagnon was rightly sent off while Larouci left the pitch on a stretcher.
Divock Origi had earlier cancelled out Nolito’s opening strike for Sevilla. The Kop striker lashed home from close range after Nat Phillips nodded down Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner.
But the Spaniards nicked it in the end when Alejandro Pozo rounded Simon Mignolet for the winner late on.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all resting from international tournaments, along with goalkeeper Alisson.
