South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon paid rich tributes to the liberation war martyrs of Bangladesh by placing wreath at the National Memorial at Savar on the outskirts of capital this morning.
After placing the wreath, he stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the country's patriotic souls.
A smartly turned out contingent drawn from army, navy and air forces presented a guard of honour at that time.
Lee also signed a visitors' book and planted a sapling there, reports said.
Earlier upon arrival on the memorial premises, the Korean premier was received by Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Haque, Housing and Public Works Minister S M Rezaul Karim, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman.
