Mustafiz fourth fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has claimed his 100th ODI wicket in his 54th match and become the joint fourth fastest overall bowler to reach the mark.

The 23-year-old left-armer achieved the feat by dismissing Haris Sohail with a slower short ball during the ICC World Cup encounter against Pakistan at the Lord's on Friday (Jul 5).

Mustafiz, however, shared the fourth place with New Zealand's Shane Bond who also took 54 ODI matches to take 100 wickets.

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan (44 matches) is fastest bowler to claim 100 ODI wickets, followed by Australia's Mitchell Starc (52 matches) and Pakistan's Saqlain Mushtaq (52 matches).

With an average of 23.04 per wicket and strike rate of 26.9 balls per wicket, Mustafiz is known for bowling cutters and his best bowling performance (6/43) came against India in 2015.

With Friday's feat, Mustafiz joins the elite list of the Bangladeshi players that includes Mashrafe Mortaza (265 wickets), Shakib Al Hasan (260), Abdur Razzak (207) and Rubel Hossain (124).
